What is your advice to job seekers?
Be nice to recruiters. We can read your resume but when we ask you to describe what you do, it is because we are interested to see how you communicate, not only with us as a recruiter but how you will communicate with the customer. Relax. Phone screens, video calls and panel interviews are a conversation with another person(s) to get to know what you do. Be truthful and honest about what you can do, what you have done and know it is alright to say you do not know or have not done something. Be patient. The right opportunity is out there for you whether it is with MindPoint Group or another company. Oh...and spell check!
How would you describe your job to a five-year-old?
I talk on the phone with people all day and help them find jobs.
What was your first job?
My first job out of college was as an HR Assistant for a government contractor in Ballston, VA. I lived one block from my office and walked to work five days a week. At that time, I did not know what area of HR I wanted to be in. Since I primarily helped my manager in recruiting that is where I began my career. Over the years, I expanded into Benefits Administration and HR Generalist roles with government contractors, start-ups and commercial companies. I recently circled back to recruiting and now walk to my home office five days a week!
What's the most exciting part of your job?
I love talking and I love talking to people. Every day I get to learn about people, what they do and what they want to do. I get excited when I can match someone to an open position!

What is your favorite thing about working at MindPointGroup?
My favorite thing about working atMindPoint Group is the recruiting team that I work with. Everyone is collaborative and willing to jump in when things are needed. We look out and help each other in our efforts to get our positions filled.
What is your advice to job seekers?
My best advice to job seekers is to really read the job descriptions and understand what qualifications are needed for the specific position. I would also say to be upfront if you do not know something and have an eagerness to learn.
What is your favorite thing about working from home?
Some people say they could never work from home but for me, I don’t think I could ever go back to a desk or office situation. I work better in the comforts of my own home and my favorite thing about it is having my dog, Jazzy, right by my side all day.
What's the best piece of professional advice you've ever received?
The best piece of advice I ever got was basically that no job is beneath you. Meaning the small things that you do are just as important as the big things and that they all have value in someway. Taking the time with a candidate that may not necessarily work for your position at that time, could benefit you a year down the road when the right position presents itself.
What's the most exciting part of your job?
The best part of my job is placing someone in a position that they love and having them reach out to me six months later and thank me for putting them there. I take recruiting someone in a position very seriously and really care about each person that I talk to.
